Recent scandals have exposed for all to see what many have long suspected: the IRS is a corrupt organization that engages in bullying American taxpayers. With this fresh reminder, there have come new calls for eliminating the IRS altogether. This would require a reforming of the tax code. The two most discussed models for a new tax system are the flat tax or a consumption-based Fair Tax. While either would be preferable to the current system, tax reform is not in itself a panacea to …Read More »

Catherine Engelbrecht’s family and business in Texas were audited by the government after her voting-rights group sought tax-exempt status from the IRS.
Retired military veteran Mark Drabik of Nebraska became active in and donated to conservative causes, then found the IRS challenging his church donations.

WSJ | Donors to GOP Group Drew IRS Scrutiny: At the same time the Internal Revenue Service was targeting tea-party groups, the tax agency took the unusual step of trying to impose gift taxes on donors to a prominent conservative advocacy group formed in 2007 to build support for President George W. Bush’s Iraq troop surge.

(CNSNews.com) – The Internal Revenue Service, in a letter dated November 16, 2011, asked the Albuquerque Tea Party why it didn’t host a “candidate rally” in 2010 for the lone Democratic gubernatorial candidate in New Mexico after it had hosted a “question and answer forum” for the Republican candidates.

If they go against the grain, unless they are exceptional, they will find another place where it is more comfortable to work.
In the Internal Revenue Service, the culture did indeed impact the behaviors of those …Read More »
Now the IRS has come forward and admitted harassing tea party and patriot groups as far back as 2011. However, they claim that it was done by low level workers and was not directed or inspired by the Obama administration.
Obama reinforced this in his press conference today. We already know that it is based on lies. Remember that Nixon faced impeachment over this.
Let’s be clear on this. There are two political appointees in the IRS, one of whom is the director. All the …Read More »
The recent admission by the IRS, in which it admitted to deliberately targeting Tea Party groups and other conservative “patriot”organizations during the presidential election, should concern every citizen.
When a government and its various (unconstitutional) agencies begin to target private citizens for political differences, the very nature of our republic is challenged. This is thuggish politics, third world, banana republic behavior that has no part in America.
However, it exists right here in the good old US of A, and these ideological hounds have no qualms about …Read More »
